From Sketch to Finished Gift
AZ 3D Prints — Our Design Process
Every piece at AZ 3D Prints — a personalised 3D printing studio in London, UK, founded by Zahabiya Ali in 2022 — begins as a hand-drawn sketch before becoming a precision 3D print shipped across the UK.
Step by Step
How AZ 3D Prints Creates Your Gift
From your first message to unwrapping the finished piece, here is exactly what happens when you order from AZ 3D Prints. Zahabiya Ali oversees every stage personally.
You share your idea
Get in touch by email, WhatsApp (07870 529184), or our contact form. Send a photo, a name, an occasion — whatever you have. We will confirm what is possible and give you a quote.
Zahabiya hand-draws the design
Every AZ 3D Prints piece starts on paper. Zahabiya sketches calligraphy, geometric forms, and personal motifs by hand. This step is what gives each product its character — no templates, no clip art.
We create a 3D digital model and share a preview
The sketch is translated into a precise 3D model. Before anything is printed, you receive a digital render for approval. Changes are free at this stage.
We print on our Ender 3 S1 Pro or Elegoo
Depending on the product, we print in PLA, PETG, or resin. FDM prints on our Ender 3 S1 Pro run at 0.1 mm layer height; resin prints on our Elegoo achieve 0.05 mm. Each piece takes 2–16 hours.
Quality check, packaging, and UK-wide delivery
Every finished piece is inspected for defects, carefully packaged, and shipped via Royal Mail. Typical turnaround from design approval to your door is 7–14 days.

What We Print With
Materials We Use
We choose the material based on the product. Most AZ 3D Prints pieces use PLA — a plant-based, biodegradable plastic. For durability or fine detail, we switch to PETG or resin.
PLA
Eco-friendly and biodegradable. Used for most products — lamps, Islamic art, namak dani, bookmarks, and nameplates. Smooth finish, vibrant colours.
PETG
Stronger and more heat-resistant than PLA. Used for storage crates, outdoor pieces, and items that need extra durability.
Resin
Ultra-fine detail at 0.05 mm layer height. Used for keyrings, miniatures, and pieces where sharpness matters most.
For a full breakdown of each material, see our materials guide.
Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions About Our Process
- How long does a custom order take?
- Most orders are completed within 7–14 days from design approval. Printing takes 2–16 hours per piece depending on size and material, with additional time for Zahabiya's design work, quality checks, and Royal Mail delivery across the UK.
- Do I get to see a preview before printing?
- Yes. After Zahabiya Ali creates the 3D digital model, a preview render is shared with you for approval. Printing only begins once you are happy with the design. Changes at the preview stage are free.
- What if I don't have a design in mind?
- No problem — Zahabiya will sketch several options based on your brief. Whether you have a vague idea or just an occasion in mind, she will create original hand-drawn concepts for you to choose from. Learn more about custom orders.
